Team Zirkle raises nearly $20,000 in golf tournament
Team Zirkle Fruit were the stars on the Cashmere, Wash. golf course recently at the 8th Annual Wine Cup, helping raise nearly $20,000 for the Wine Industry Foundation.
In an extremely close race, this year’s winning team was the multi-year winner, Team Zirkle Fruit, which included Bill Wangler, Jeff Hattori, Lester Zirkle and Mark Zirkle.
Second place went to Champoux Vinyards, which included Joe Champoux, Jason Champoux, Jeff Champoux, and Paul Champoux.
Longest drive winners were Les Zirkle of Zirkle Fruit and Cathy Blore of Papé Material Handling, while the longest putt winners were Robert Andrews of Coyote Canyon Vineyard and Cindy Phillips of Bank of the West. Closest to the pin winner was Greg Newman of Bleyhl Farm Service.
The Wine Industry Foundation is funded through contributions and grants made by individuals, companies and organizations.
Donations help administer scholarships, channel grants for education or research, support opportunities, and offer home to memorials.
WWIF is organized to collectively support and fund industry needs. The foundation is uniquely structured under IRS rules as a 501 (c)(3) to allow individuals, organizations and companies the benefit of a tax deduction for contributions.
